ABOUT THE EVENT
As we celebrate you and others, we also celebrate 30 years of child advocacy in Chatham County with our "Back to the 90's" theme. Thinking back to the year 1991 when the Savannah/Chatham CASA legacy began, we are honored to commemorate the growth of this organization with those who are working so hard to strengthen our impact in the community. Feel free to come dressed in your favorite 90s gear!
We will award our volunteers and partners as well as update the community on our accomplishments over a delicious breakfast.
You have the option to attend in person or virtually. Virtual Attendees will be emailed a link prior to the event.
We will carefully consider COVID-19 transmission rates within our community at the time of the event and will implement appropriate measures to promote the health and wellbeing of attendees and staff based on CDC guidelines. These guidelines will be sent to you two weeks prior to the event. To assist in limit numbers this year's annual meeting will only be open to CASA volunteers, staff, board members, and community partners. It will not be open to the

ABOUT JUDGE BURKE
Last year, Judge LeRoy Burke III retired as the presiding judge of Chatham County Juvenile Court after 13 years of service. Burke began his legal career as a general practice attorney in Atlanta and Savannah. He later became an advisor with the Office of Hearings and Appeals in the Social Security Administration. He then served more than 10 years as a judge in the Chatham County Recorder's Court. Burke is a member of the Council of Juvenile Court Judges, the American Bar Association, the Port City Bar Association, and the State Bar of Georgia. Judge Burke grew up in Virginia and attended Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia. He earned his J.D. at Woodrow Wilson College of Law in Atlanta. Judge Burke has a been a longtime supporter of Savannah CASA. While he may have retired, he is always only an email away - willing to provide support and attention to the organization. And did we mention that he LOVES the Raiders? ;) |
